About the Group Accountant Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Group Accountant to join our growing international finance team. Reporting to the Head of Financial Accounting, you will play a vital role in supporting accurate financial reporting, consolidation of group accounts, and contributing to Smartvatten’s ongoing commitment to sustainability and operational excellence. This is an exciting opportunity to take a central role in ensuring robust financial controls and facilitating business growth across multiple markets.

Key Responsibilities – Group Accounting & Financial Reporting

• Prepare and consolidate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with relevant accounting standards (FAS).
• Support the group’s month-end and year-end close procedures and ensure timely, accurate reporting.
• Assist in the preparation of management reports, budgets, and forecasts to support strategic decision-making.
• Maintain intercompany reconciliations and transactions, ensuring alignment across all entities.
• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, internal controls, and company policies.
• Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory authorities as needed.
• Participate in continuous improvement of accounting processes and systems for efficiency and scalability.
• Collaborate closely with Finance, HR, and business units across multiple countries.

Qualifications & Skills for the Group Accountant Role

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; recognized accounting certification (CPA, ACCA, or equivalent) is an advantage.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in group accounting, audit, or financial reporting in an international context.
• Strong knowledge of FAS and hands-on experience in consolidating financial statements.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with financial ERP systems.
• Keen attention to detail, analytical mindset, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
• Clear, effective communication skills in English; additional European language(s) is a plus.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a multicultural, distributed team environment.
